5. Requirements for engine operation

1)  Fuel is proper.
It is necessary to be aware of clogging of fuel tank, fuel cock, and carburetor.
2)  Compression is suitable.
Check piston rings, gaskets and others for abnormality.
3)  Spark is proper.
Check spark plug, coil, unit and magneto.

6. Cautions to fuel handling

There will be a case of fuel affected by chemical change if fuel (mixed gasoline) is left in fuel tank for pump for a long time. In this case, trouble will occur in fuel supply system, such as poor start-up and engine stall. Please pay attention to following items.

1) Check monthly if there is stimulating odor or contamination in fuel. If any abnormality is found, replace fuel with new one immediately. When changing fuel, clean and check fuel tank, and fuel supply cock.
2) When fuel is deteriorated in a short time, change brand of gasoline. This is because fuel composition varies among brands.
3) If fuel is unused for more than 3 months, change fuel whenever possible, because it may cause poor start-up.
4) Use unleaded gasoline. And use 2-cycle engine oil to be mixed with fuel.

7. Operation of governor

If water discharge is intermittently continued during operation, the rotation will fluctuate. To avoid this, a governor is used. If rotation goes up, centrifugal force will apply and close throttle valve, and if rotation goes down, throttle valve will open by governor spring force.
Rotation adjustment is done by adjusting force of governor spring with adjustment screw. For smooth operation of governor, it is required to keep a proper amount of oil in governor chamber.
